Last NVDA alpha and add-on installation

With the latest alpha version of NVDA, I can no longer install add-ons using its installer file. Are you also seeing the same problem? Thank you. Best regards. Paul.

I have upgraded to the latest Alpha version, and this does not happen to me. I can install plugins in NVDA-addon file.

Have you restarted the computer after updating? Are you getting an error message? If so, can you share the message you are getting?

What happens instead? I found that some browsers can muck up the relationship with nvda of some suffixs. However, normally its a simple fix to put it back by changing opening program in the list in windows.

I just did a lot of testing with previous NVDA alpha. The latest version that works is: nvda_snapshot_alpha-21351,0312687c With the following one, I cannot install an add-on from the explorer (either by "enter" on the file, or with the context menu "open with") Nothing happens, as if the action was not taken into account. My system is W10 2004, french language. Tested without add-on. Everything is fine with NVDA 2020.3. Best regards. Paul.

I have encountered the same issue and found where the regression occurred. I have opened a GitHub issue to track it: https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/11867
