Any update on addons developed by Tony, e.g. BrowserNav

William

Hello,

I am a heavy user of addons which are developed by Tony, e.g. BrowserNav, WordNav, etc.

As it is close to the release of nvda 2023.1,  so far I have not seen any news regarding these addons, not sure if Tony is watching this list, would you please update those addons to be working with nvda 2023.1? thank you very much.

Cyrille

Hello

Tony is usually quite busy. Recently he was mentioned in a NVDA GitHub issue and has indicated to be "overwhelmed by work".

So I do not know if and when he will be able to update his add-ons.

From what I know:
- SentenceNav: I have updated the manifest and all seems to work.
- IndentNav has been reported not to be working when only updating the manifest. This is probably due to changes in the configuration to report indentation in 2023.1.
- Tony's Enhancements was already causing errors with table navigation commands in NVDA 2022.2 or 2022.3, so the same issue will be present if one updates the manifest for 2023.1

I do not know anything for other add-ons that I do not use.

Cheers,

Cyrille

Hi, I am also a heavy user of Word-nav. After my test, it can adapt to 2023.1 by updating the manifest

I have modified the IndentNav add-on to work in NVDA 2023.1.

You can get it from:

Have you also proposed a PR to Tony?

Hi Rui

I was wondering because you have already done the job.

I am not a user of Indent Nav so submitting a fix is not in my priorities. Do not expect something from me so soon.

Cheers,

Cyrille

I use tony enhancements and 1.14 I had to get manually.

The enhancer hasen't been updated for ages but I may have to go without it if I can't get it to work.

Oh, thanks for all the feedback, though no one is using BrowserNav?

Hi,

I’m one of the users of browserNav. I’ve manually updated the manifest.ini and latest code from the addon repository and experiencing no problem with the latest NVDA Alpha and 2023.1 rc.

Well, I was going to do that... I have forked the repository, but, when reading the code, notticed that changes are already made...

Even builtin.py was already with a new version number and updated the last version compiled...

It seems that Tony have forgot to compile...

So, I have only compiled the add-on...

It is available on my Dropbox:

I think indent-nav has been deprecated for a long time.
its feature was moved to browser-nav.

Someone on the NVDA Group who's a new member has asked about Console Toolkit.  In looking at the noted GitHub page, it appears that someone has updated the most recently tested NVDA version to 2023.1 and Tony approved the PR for same.  But no new release number, nor update to the what exists already in the current release number has gone out where it can be obtained.

Given that it's been mentioned that Tony is swamped by other commitments, is there any way to get that very last step taken care of?
