Adding different keyboard languages to PC Keyboard Braille Input add-on
Noelia Ruiz
Hi again, if you want test this new file. I have installed French France and pt_PT keyboards and this works right for me now, including the usage of "w" character with the down arrow in French.
Thanks

@Cyrille, thanks for your useful info about the characters
corresponding to French keyboard. Now the gesture to toggle braille
input is NVDA+0, hoping this doesn't cause problems with other
languages including French.
Test again if you want. Thanks for your patience.

<cyrille.bougot2@...>:Hello
OK for dot 8 key mappings.
But their is a bug as a side effect. I cannot deactivate the braille
input
mode anymore: NVDA+Z does not work anymore.
Moreover, the upper row cannot be used as an alternative as the Z key
(on
the left of E key) does not produce dot 3 as it should. Instead, it
writes
the "z" letter.

Genial.
Great. If somebody needs support for other language, let me know what is not working, copy the key code for dot 8 or other and if needed, I will install the language for testing too.

Hi
All fine with all dots on middle row and upper row. Congratulations!
What do you mean with :
At least, I did not test before the one-hand mode. I do not know if so much people use it but if it exists, it is used or has been used by at least one person...
Comments about this mode:
1. All keys of the 2 rows (upper and middle) work correctly, even G/H and T/Y.
2. The description of this mode and how it works is missing in documentation
3. An error occurs if you press G or H without having pressed any dot key before (ASDF QWER or JKL; UIOP). A ui.message would be cleaner in this case.
Cheers,
Cyrille

Hi, you said:
About one mode, as I explained, a person commented me that it was used by a blind musician which suffer a surgical intervention. He used it during a time, after that, when he was able to move his two hands, he didn't need it.
Mostly years ago, at least in Spain a devide called Braille 'n Speak was widely used by students or for taking notes, and this had a way to type braille with one hand, so I remembered this and created this mode.
About the h key, here the error should be fixed, without ui.message. I prefer not to use ui.message since this could interrupt braille displays output, where the typed text could be read while typing.
I will document the one hand mode before requesting a review for this add-on. This is just for testing and I'm not sharing the add-on but just the plugin.

Hello
My feedbacks:
1. W key is working as expected, i.e. issues the character since it is on the lower row on FR keyboard
2. Unless I am mistaken, error with H key in one-hand mode is still present
3. About not using ui.message: good point. Actually, the user will probably control his input with braille.
PS: Seems that it was my webmail client that caused the "Re: Re: Re: Re:" issue in object line. Let me know if replying to this e-mail is correct now.

You commented that w resulted in dot 3, which should be avoided. Now
when you press w, under a, in the third row from upp to bottom, it
results in w.

Hello, I tried to fix the error with g and h in one mode and in NVDA 2019.2 I didn't see it. If you find this, please provide more info or steps to reproduce, log messages and so on.
Many thanks for all your feedback

Cheers,
Cyrille

Hi, you said:
> What do you mean with :
> the usage of "w" character with the down arrow in French
You commented that w resulted in dot 3, which should be avoided. Now
when you press w, under a, in the third row from upp to bottom, it
results in w.
About one mode, as I explained, a person commented me that it was used
by a blind musician which suffer a surgical intervention. He used it
during a time, after that, when he was able to move his two hands, he
didn't need it.
Mostly years ago, at least in Spain a devide called Braille 'n Speak was
widely used by students or for taking notes, and this had a way to type
braille with one hand, so I remembered this and created this mode.
About the h key, here the error should be fixed, without ui.message. I
prefer not to use ui.message since this could interrupt braille displays
output, where the typed text could be read while typing.
I will document the one hand mode before requesting a review for this
add-on. This is just for testing and I'm not sharing the add-on but just
the plugin.
Cheers

key before (ASDF QWER or JKL; UIOP). A ui.message would be cleaner in this case.
