Is this the last SPL add-on your going to do? I know your looking for someone to take over the project.

Hi all,

StationPlaylist add-on 20.06.1 is now available. This release fixes how NVDA manages new broadcast profiles. Specifically, if you create new broadcast profiles, switch to these and attempt to save add-on settings, NVDA may say “configuration saved” while not saving add-on settings.

As always the new update is just an add-on update check away.

Cheers,

Joseph

Re: How do I tell NVDA where focus is?

Hello:

I don't have a definitive answer, so I was waiting in case someone had
another one. We use this code in eMule add-on that maybe useful (not
sure):
obj.setFocus()
eventHandler.queueEvent("gainFocus", obj)

I have a situation where I need to tell NVDA where focus is under certain
conditions because the app doesn't do it properly. This will include handing
NVDA the focus object, with its parentage, assigning the object name, etc.
Any best practice for how to do this? Current NVDA version (2020.1) is the
one of interest, if that matters.

Thanks much for any info.

 There is a problem that has been repeated in the recent period on the web page of WhatsApp with the NVDA program, and we cannot access message options such as responding, directing the message to another conversation, and deleting the message. Also, videos and audio cannot be accessed to run it, so is there a solution to the problem?

Re: Windows 10 App Essentials 20.06.1 #addonrelease

Hi,

Special note: the change included in 20.06.1 (and for dev snapshot users, May 23rd snapshot) is based on tree traversal. Thanks to Abdel’s description of UIA condition based traversal (which does work for this one; thank you Abdel), I came up with a fix that will work across Cortana releases unless Microsoft changes UIA properties. The new solution will become part of May 26th snapshot (next week) and will eventually show up to stable channel subscribers in July.

Cheers,

Joseph

Within the next two hours, I'll issue an update to Add-on Updater that will catch this and insert debug messages to figure out what's going on.

To be clear, checking for version info in this way is a bit of a hack, and you aren't doing any exception handling locally to catch the lack of matching groups from the regular expression. So there could definitely be a server-side inconsistency, but you can't rely on the server returning the correct data at all times and not validate it.

I get this often on the first reload of NVDA after an add-on updater

I have my NVDA set up to tell me of issues that normally go

Hi Ralf and Daniel

According to Daniel's log (sent in private message), it seems that the headers fields are present and visible. But the control ID of this field are not the same as those expected, i.e. the ones used previously.

@Ralf or other investigators:
* Could it be specific to Outlook 365 64-bits? Did you test on such version?

* Do you have exactly the same version of Outlook 365 as Daniel's?

@Daniel:
Is meeting cancellation message the only one that has an issue?

Thanks.

Hello Daniel

Thanks for reporting this issue. Any feedback from other people on this topic is also welcome.

Maybe Ralf?

To help debugging this, could you please execute the following actions:

* Ensure that your log level is on DEBUG in NVDA's General settings
* Open NVDA's python console and execute the following commands:
import globalVars
globalVars.olexDebug = True
(Note that this debug setting will not be active anymore after NVDA restart)
* Open Outlook and open a cancelled meeting request
* Press various shortcut to read headers such as Alt+1, Alt+2, etc..
* Send me the log.

Note that the log in debug mode may contain personal information about your e-mail titles, cancelled meeting request headers and content, etc. If this information is sensitive, you may want to send me directly the log (if you want) rather than on this list.

Some additional questions:
* What is your version of Outlook? Did you test (if possible) on various version?
* Has this issue always been here or did it appear recently?
* When you speak about cancelled meeting request, are you referring to a message received in your Inbox informing you that a meeting that was previoulsy sent to you has been cancelled by the meeting organizer?

I do not remember if I have checked this type of messages. And I am not sure to be able to test myself for now due to work at home. Anyway, I will try to fix it. If I do not succeed in fixing it now, I will do it as soon as I can test.

Cheers,

Cyrille
