Re: dropbox

No, dropbox 4.3 is the latest stable for now.

The last I heard is that technically stable is ready to go but we wait on translations now.

Hello!

The add-on works very well!

For me, the readme should be constructed in a way more similar with the other add-ons included in the oficial repository, but, for me, that is not a show stopper, since is only to maintain some consistency...

If you want help to reconstruct the readme, I am available...

Hi there.

but I stopped the process of making it official because there were some minor problems with the python 2 versions of NVDA in some computers. Even so, it's not something that affects the functionality of NVDA or the add-on in python 2.

Now with NVDA 2019.3 and python 3, that issue isn't present, at least in my tests.
So, I decided to send it for review again. This add-on has the following features:
  • Delayed descriptions: Announce the character description for the last read character after n milliseconds when the character was read by character review commands, E.G. left and right arrow keys, left, current or right character review commands, ETC.
  • Instant character descriptions: Read the character description instead of the current character. This feature must be enabled or disabled manually and will be deactivated when NVDA is closed.

Download the latest release here and test it!

Hi!

I have updated the addon with some corrections, especially compatibility with Thunderbird 68 that many users expected.

This is the list of news:

- Firefox:
    * Improved script to show the toolbar dialog. Added a script with optional gesture when NVDA+F8 twice does not work well. Go to NVDA settings>gestures to asign it your own gesture.
    * Improved when getting toolbar buttons. Now no longer shows invisible buttons.

- Thunderbird:
    * Fixed  search box in fast filtering bar to work on Thunderbird 68
    * Fixed the script to reading the message header (addresses, subject and date) to work on Thunderbird 68
    * Implemented a new way to get the options menu of the addresses in a message. Control + Shift + number(1-4) twice often does not work well. Now it can be done by adding the Alt modifier. Alt + Control + Shift + number (1-4) will now display the corresponding menu when a message is being reading and will take the focus to the corresponding field when the message is being written.

Hi,
Now that NVDA is using Python 3, or possibly because of some other reason,
NVDA is talking about the Codefactory addons being incompatible. How do we
check on this and possibly get these addons updated?

Thanks.

Re: FW: [nvda] Poedit Made Easy NVDA add-on

René Linke

Hi,

Perhaps, I found this old discussion at:

<https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/4205>

Instead of making an add-on I suggest to heavily overhaul, the included poedit.py file in the NVDA source because there are things (for instance, Ctrl+Shift+A for reading notes, and Ctrl+Shift+C for reading comments), this included module is still not working for newer Poedit 2.x anymore. Lately, Poedit 2.3 is out now.
That old module in NVDA is kind of obsolete, and should taken care to update it.
And the other snippets and suggestions can probably be included as well that mentioned in the discussion.

This should put as a Proof of concept implementation of Poedit add-on feature (NVDA Core issue 4205).

Thanks,

René

Re: NVDA 2019.3 and community add-ons: slowly making progress

Hi,
If developers are willing to license the DLL in such a way that it can be run inside a GPL 2 licensed software (NVDA), then yes, if not, no. This is one of the reasons why speech synthesizer add-ons are hosted somewhere else - not only license, but copyright issues abound.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi all.
There is an updated addon Newfon (ukrainian and russian speech synthesizer), but its libraries are distributed under a proprietary license. However, the application remains free.
New developers don't want to keep the code open to keep the synthesizer clean.
I wrote about this but did not receive a comprehensive answer.
I'm interesting: Can I host a proprietary license addon on addons site?

A note re: Speech History: I haven't yet updated to NVDA 2019.3 myself, because of some speech dictionary related issues. I will hopefully find time to update this weekend, which will mean a Speech History update shortly after.

Tony's add-ons: about to go live, plus a really critical directive on add-on installer file names #addonrelease

Hello all,

Tony’s add-ons (Indent Nav and others) are about to go live on stable channel.

Along with this, a very critical directive on add-on installer file names: several add-ons (including Tony’s) do not include version info as part of add-on installer file names. Please include version info as part of installer file name like so:

addonname-version.nvda-addon

This is required in order to not confuse Add-on Updater and related services.

Cheers,

Poedit Made Easy or if the author is in this list. I wrote to him long time

find it extremely useful, so if the author is not willing to work again on

How to silence speaking control states?

Pawel Urbanski

Dear Everyone,
I'm getting back with an old question. This time the phrasing is better...
The case is:
How can I silence speaking control states, namely: multiline, has
popup, autocomplete ona textarea field?
I managed to silence announcing the type as editable text using the following:
controlTypes.silentRolesOnFocus.add(controlTypes.ROLE_EDITABLETEXT)

Is there any API where I could do the same, but for speaking control states?

Thanks for any feedback,
Pawel
